Can be the best bargain out there, if purchased below Market Value. You can make all the upgrades and remodeling yourself and save a bundle.

But...there's the But....do you have the time and skill to get the job done right? There are investors who only do this, and then there's the rest of us. Be sure before you invest in that fixer-upper that you are willing and able to make the changes needed to increase your investment and have a saleable or rentable property.

Wanting to and being able to are quite different, I have seen those who want to but really don't have the skill and wind up loosing the property's value due to poor workmanship. On the other hand if you have skill and time you can take that property to full value and then some. It's up to you, know what you want before you go shopping and you will get exactly the right investment.

It seems that summertime the prices are high and 4th quarter or fall/winter the prices drop so of course everyone wants to wait until then to purchase. In every other market that might be a good idea, but hummm I think you may lose this time if you wait too long. We know that interest will go up to help keep the economy from diving after the election, so waiting may not be a good idea. Sure the prices may drop but if interest goes up your in the same boat, so why not get the home you want now and be snug as a bug in a rug by wintertime? Just a thought.

Then for my cash only buyers.....the wait till 4th quarter may be to your advantage if your not in a hurry.....but.....your choices will be less, so you decide.

As always.....you can't go wrong with Real Estate it will always be a good investment.
